The Big Birthday

This is what the birthday girl woke up to this morning--a card from Mom and Dad, a bunch of cutie mandarin oranges, and some donuts.  Eggs and turkey bacon followed.

She really loves cuties!  She didn't even blink at the lack of any other presents...apparently a card and cuties would have been enough.

Daddy says 'goodmorning'.

This teenager loves her Daddy.

Reading her card.

With the freedom that we have with homeschooling, we were able to spend the day playing Guesstures, working on a felt owl craft and just enjoying the day.
If you are interested in this craft, check out THIS BLOG.  It's a good one.

Then it was time for Moo to open some of her gifts when Daddy came home from work for lunch (and she thought all she was getting was some cuties and a day off school!).

I made her a pair of fingerless gloves.  The pattern?  HERE

Opening purple floral earrings from Belle.

And the big surprise: a fancy dress and a dinner date with Daddy at The Melting Pot.

She's just so grown up and pretty.  Here are a million pictures of my beautiful girl.

Okay, getting a good picture of these two together is nearly impossible.  Either my husband looks like he is snarling, they keep looking away, or they are making funny faces.  So, I just posted all of them!

Here are a bunch of pictures they took at dinner with Steve's cell phone.  I wish they were better quality.  When I enlarge them, they lose even more clarity.  Bummer. :(

Well, I don't believe it, but...I think she is finally stuffed!

And then, it was back home for the night:
We've learned tonight that Moo's appetite can be quenched. It just takes a LOT of food.  Have I mentioned that I feel like I have a teenage boy lately?  She could easily eat us out of house and home!

Finally, THE gift that she had no idea we were going to give her...a Kindle.  She was thrilled.

A good day for a great young lady.  I look forward to watching you in wonder--oh, the places you will go, my dear girl...the places you will go!

It was so fun to read about the big birthday! Mostly it made me tear up thinking of what a special memory she will have. Not only are you two blessed with a beautiful daughter, she is blessed with beautiful parents. ~ Love to you all!
