You're the One

I don't know what more to say about this one.
I just felt it was funny enough to be blog worthy.
I'm fortunate that all three of my closest friends are quite clearly mentally unbalanced.
So, I'm NOT the one. Are you?

First Day of School

It's the first day of school at the Grant home, and we are all up and dressed and in our right minds. For now. The girls are now in 3rd and 5th grade, so the workload is increasingly challenging, but I am pretty confident that they are up to it.

This is a pretty typical scene during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and noon in our home. Interspersed throughout the day are comfy times on the couch for Bible and history reading, times outside for recess, and free-reading time. Our schedule is pretty full this year, and includes an afternoon grammar & writing class 1x week for Moo, violin for Moo 1x a week, choir for both the girls 1x a week, and a small group gathering 1x a week. The girls are also involved in a couple girls' clubs that meet on a monthly and bi-monthly basis. I am so thankful that I didn't end up signing up for 4-H...because we are already busy, busy, busy!

Did I mention it is just the first day of school?

An Appropriate Name

When I purchased this climbing flower in the early spring, I was really unsure about what it would look like. I am amazed at the strange mix of textures and designs that the blooms display when open. So here is the challenge: do you know what this flowering climber is called?
