| The girls made this poster some time ago. |
There were a lot of goodbyes before this big one. My husband didn't come up from TN a lot over the last 7 months, so when he did come visit, it was a BIG deal. And saying goodbye each time was hard. I think that maybe this was the Father's way of helping us all stand up under the weight of grief that comes with saying a more prolonged goodbye to friends and family. It allowed us to build up our goodbye muscles just a bit more...but still...ouch.

| They would always try to stand on the front porch, often in their pajamas, and wave goodbye to Daddy as he left for the trip back to Tennessee. |
This past weekend was moving day, and so many people came by to help or to visit. We are thankful for their love, help and friendship.
Here are just a few pictures.
| Jack and Concetta brought lunch for our family and our moving crew. So nice! |
| Dan, Marah, the Steves and Scott. |
| Sweet Concetta and dear Anna--my chef and cleaning lady--both, the BEST! |
| Precious Sophie. |
| My sister Kristen and her hubby Nick (a.k.a. our moving superintendent). |
| Steve gives a goodbye squeeze to his youngest nephew, Roan. |
| What else would you do if you were a kid?? |
| Our neighbor, Cayla Sunshine (that's really her name!) came by with goodbye gifts for the girls, and a birthday gift for Belle. |
| The night before our move, all of our house was empty except for a couple mattresses, the television and some overstuffed backpacks. |
| The girls drove the whole way to Tennessee in the cab of the truck with Daddy. That gave me and Charlie the Shih Tzu plenty of time to BLAST the radio (okay, most the time it was talk radio...but still! It was great!). :) |
| A surprise on our new front porch: a swing! |
So for now, with all those goodbyes behind us, we brace ourselves for whatever craziness the South has in store for us. So far, nothing too out of the ordinary...just some BIG bugs, funny billboards and charming accents. I'll keep y'all posted!
