Feast of Tabernacles, 2011

We are just now home from Missouri, where we go each year to celebrate The Feast of Tabernacles, a.k.a. The Feast of Ingathering, a.k.a. Sukkot, a.k.a. The Highlight of Our Year and a great time!  Here are some initial pictures--represented are sweet times of fellowship, worship, teaching and fun.  The last few videos are of the talent show, where the girls sang a duet and Belle co-starred in a skit with Mr. Olson.  Houston, we have a problem--she was a natural. :) There are some other videos that give a general snapshot of our time there.

Lots of dancing...

Sophie wowed the crowd at the talent show.

Getting ready to wave the four species spoken of in Leviticus 23:40.

Might sound a little strange, but it should sound familiar.  Where else do we find a crowd waving palm branches in praise?  Getting a bigger context of the events found in Scripture is interesting...participating in and/or reenacting them is exciting! :)

Re-enacting the water pouring ceremony.

Moo and Avery--new friends that seem like old ones.

Only the girls understand what this is...something about "Look! doesn't it look like a face??".  Yes, it does look like a face.  Specifically, my daughter's face.  I think we adults are missing something...

Saying goodbye to the Croswell Clan.  Love them.

Sophie and Belle working on necklaces during kid's craft and teaching time.

More fun in the kids' program. Hannah is a new friend, Zechariah is a wonderful and wacky friend from way back.

The entrance to the kids' program.

Teaching time.

Coffee table--THE place to be until service starts.

One of many speakers/teachers.

Lots of time was spent in our lodge, and Moo spent a lot of that time playing with the itty-bitties.

Belle playing cards with Zechariah and Benjamin.

Jonathan demonstrating his indoor tennis prowess.

Ladies talking--Ahavah, Anna, Heidi and Millie.

Sweet girls.

Jeremiah leads us in the Simchat Torah ("Rejoicing in the Torah") service.  This week ends this year's torah reading cycle, so the scroll is "rolled back" from Devarim (Deuteronomy) to B'resheet (Genesis) and we begin to read again.

A good many of the kids came up close to see the Scriptures.

Videos from the talent show, the Hebraic dance circles and the "Man Dance" (the highlight of the week--just ask anyone!):
