A Darling Tea

Some of my girls' most treasured memories are of the times that Miss Sara prepared "Darling Teas" during their playdates with Lydia and Audrey.  These simple and memorable tea parties were complete with fancy table linens, china and fancy food.  Today, I did a fearsome thing.  I had my own Darling Tea.  Despite what you may think, this fancy stuff does not come easy to me, and I shy away from even trying to pull it off. But in this circumstance--as a sweet new friend of the girls' was coming for lunch--the potential reward of proving myself to my girls was just too great.  I pulled out the linen...found the fancy plates...threw together some simple cucumber sandwiches, bruscetta salad and cataloupe with a side of jelly beans...and *poof*!  A Darling Tea was born--and I proved something to my girls (and to myself)!

Okay, this next picture cracks me up.  Years and years ago, my mom made a couple dog costumes for my girls.  Seems like it was when they were in kindergarten and 2nd grade.  As is the custom for my girls, they love to play dress up (see previous post for additional proof) and apparently certain costumes are NEVER seen as being outgrown.
Mom, thanks again for the costumes.  They are STILL something to be enjoyed!
