Belle's First Guitar Recital, May 2012

This year has been one full of continued musical instruction.  Belle has settled into her instrument of choice: guitar.  She still asks about getting back into violin, and likes to think of herself as pretty good on the ukulele and tin whistle (okay, okay, she has delusions of grandeur about such things...like her mom).  Anyway, tonight was her first recital after a year with MTPAA and her instructor, Jason Jordan.  She played "A Thing Called Love" and "I Believe".
She seemed cool as a cucumber beforehand, though she admitted later that she "almost had a nervous breakdown".

I can hardly chew gum and walk at the same time, so I was really surprised that someone with my DNA could strum an instrument AND sing.  Again, these abilities clearly skip a generation.  :)

Belle loves Mr. Jason.  He is an incredibly talented guy, with a sweet spirit about him.  As a guy with a busy concert tour schedule (he plays lead guitar for Love & Theft, who currently opens for Brad Paisley), we've been fortunate that he's available to teach throughout this school year.

MTPAA is the brainchild of Cindy Roberts, a very talented vocalist and all-around sweetheart of a woman.
Here is the video.  Turn your volume way up.  The first piece is an instrumental, and the second is a family favorite by Roman & Alaina entitled "I Believe".
