MCYO Spring Jam 2014

This weekend was Moo's MCYO Chamber Ensemble performance.

The quartet performed Mozart's Eine Kleine Nacht Musik and Od Yashama, a classic Jewish piece.  They did quite well, and in the first piece--when things started to fall apart for a couple measures--Moo was able to aptly function in the first violin position and pull her peers back together again.  This is one of the many good parts about group performance that were learned this year in MCYO.  Also, she was able to perform with the larger orchestra in Led Zepplin's Battle of Evermore (yes, a Zepplin piece...they are, after all, Music City's ECLECTIC Youth Orchestra).  Finally, to close the evening, MCYO's artist-in-residence, Tracy Silverman, performed one of his compositions.  He is known as the electric violin guy. ;)

Both Moo and Caroline have Mrs. Amy Helman for a violin instructor.  She was kind enough to come watch the night's performance.

Here are some clips:
(Warning--the Mozart piece gets a little painful here and there. Let's just say that the boys were not as prepared as would have been ideal.  Also, the audio on my camera is always more tinny and harsh than live in-venue, which doesn't do justice to the violin.)
