Family Time on the Beach, Tishrei 15, 5774

This was our first family vacation/Feast of Tabernacles celebration while camping on the beach.  Our dear friends loaned us their camper, and we drove a couple hours south to Alabama one afternoon, and then the rest of the almost 8 hour drive down to Greyton Beach State Park, Florida the next morning. The following pictures are meant to convey the three main points of our time at the beach: the beauty, solitude and the fun.
It is a pretty big camper--31 feet!

First layover in Alabama

Downtime while glamping--late night movies.  Those of you who are die hard campers and wilderness types will not appreciate this.  We, however, did.  A LOT.  ;)

Classy, I know.

The girls made sure that we all packed swim suits, and brought lots of kosher marshmallows for s'mores.  Their priorities were narrow, but perfect.

Say hello to my little friend...

Shopping in Seaside

Boogie Boards...the essential beach item.

White sand...ahhhh...

After spotting a couple sharks mid-week, daddy spent time patrolling and protecting.  Well, and playing.  This shot was taken just AFTER he was patrolling.

This is how redheads sunbathe.

Random seaweed and shell placement?  Or communication from the merpeople?  We shall never know...

Out of dozens of selfies that the girls and I took, I picked just a couple to post.  I thought I would spare the public from the pig nose and nose-picking ones.  I mean, we all may run for office one day...

This is why we will be back.

We met up with our friends the Brinkleys, and Steve and David did some stargazing.

Charlie's home for the week--at the end of our bed, or hiding under the couch.

We had a simply wonderful time.
